Born in the small plot of “Montelavano” at about 800 meters above sea level, with very low yields, this ancient Sicilian red wine offers intense vinous, fruity and spicy aromas.

This pure Perricone represents a return to the Sicilian wine scene for the production area (Alte Madonie).

The soil and climate conditions of these mountains give rise to pleasant aromas of herbs and dried fruit .

After pressing, the grapes ferment on their skins for about 10 days at a controlled temperature. Aged in second-passage barriques for about 10-12 months, it mellows the flavor and enriches it with fruity aromas.

On the palate it is savoury, warm and balanced, with a strong tannic tone , a pleasant bitterish vein and a sharp and well-defined character , which make it a wine to be enjoyed at the table, paired with substantial and structured dishes such as ragù-based dishes, game, pork, as well as cured meats and mature cheeses.
