A demanding and difficult grape variety but capable of conveying great emotion in the glass, with rare elegance and complexity.
Nerello Mascalese is a native Sicilian grape variety that thrives best in the central-eastern part of the island, where the mountains are high enough to allow these grapes to ripen late.
This too, as with the Pinot Noir, was a difficult choice, almost visionary if you like, but the small plot of land in Montelavano, at 800 meters above sea level, is already giving satisfaction after just a few years.
With very low yields (50 quintals per hectare), the hand-picked and selected grapes produce a generous wine with aromas of blackcurrant, black mulberry, and pomegranate. Expressive purity on the palate, vertical and floral, with a satisfying freshness on the palate.
Aged in second passage barriques.
